We partnered with our friends at Mercury Marine for the launch of their newest engine – the 5.7L V10 350 and 400hp Verado outboards. This launch continues the legendary Verado engine family’s legacy of providing premium marine performance. We developed 3D product renders and animations that were to demonstrate the sunsetting of their previous L6 model and dynamically transform into the shape and profile that the Verado family is so well-known for.
There are many phases of 3D development and it’s a very complex and time-consuming process – but it’s worth it. Take a deeper look into our process and development for this project.
We pulled dozens of examples that inspired us early-on in the creative development process for this engine launch. We wanted to approach the transformation through a mix of organic, liquid and cloth simulations, but also not lose sight of the mechanical movements that this product required.
We spend many hours not only materializing and lighting products like this, but also establishing dynamic camera positions and camera moves. Here is a behind-the-scenes look at one of the animation sequences for this project.
Our team was tasked to develop a “feel” for this project that was emotional and told a dramatic story. Here’s our development with sound design.
Here are some of the key moments of this project.
